my Story

I UNDERSTAND THE BUSINESS, NOT JUST THE BRAND.

I’ve spent 18 years helping businesses work out how to present themselves, and the last 7 building one of my own. That means I understand the design side, but I also understand the pressure of running the thing, making decisions, changing direction and trying to keep everything moving at the same time.

Over time, businesses evolve. Offers get sharper, audiences change, expectations rise and the brand that once did the job can start to feel like it belongs to an earlier version of the business.

That’s the part I’m interested in. Helping founders close that gap and create a brand that feels like a true reflection of where the business is now, and where it’s heading next.

I DIDN’T START A STUDIO TO BUILD AN AGENCY.

I started it because I wanted to stay close to the work: the conversations, the thinking, the ideas and the decisions that actually shape the brand. I wanted clients to deal with the person doing the work, not get passed from one department to another while the original idea gets watered down along the way.

That still shapes how I work now. You deal directly with me from the first conversation through to the final build, and when a project needs more specialist input, I bring in trusted people who are right for the job.

The setup stays lean, the thinking stays joined up, and the work stays personal.

18 YEARS OF MAKING THINGS MAKE SENSE.

I’ve worked across brand identity, campaigns, print, digital and websites for businesses of all shapes and sizes. Big organisations, small founder led companies, fast moving projects, messy briefs and plenty of situations where the real problem wasn’t the design, it was the lack of clarity underneath it.

Over time, that became the part of the work I cared about most. Understanding what the business is trying to say, what makes it different, where it’s heading and how to turn all of that into something people can actually understand, remember and trust.

That’s why my work now goes beyond making things look good. I bring strategy, story, identity and digital experience together so the whole brand feels connected, intentional and built around the business itself.

LEAN & MEAN since 2019.

I keep the studio deliberately small because most projects don’t need a huge team. They need the right people, clear thinking and someone taking responsibility for the whole thing.

You work directly with me at the core of the project, and when the brief needs more firepower I bring in trusted developers, writers, photographers and specialists I know can do the job properly. The team grows when the work demands it, not because you should be paying for an agency full of people you never meet.

It keeps the process tighter, the communication clearer and the work more personal, while still giving the project room to scale when it needs to.

design with direction not decoration.

I care about making things look good, but good design only works when there’s a reason behind it. A strong brand should make the business easier to understand, easier to trust and harder to ignore.

That means starting with the thinking before the styling. What are you really selling? Why should people care? What makes you different? What needs to change?

Once that’s clear, the strategy, story, identity and website can all pull in the same direction.

That’s the bit that matters. Not decoration for decoration’s sake, but a brand that knows what it’s doing.

I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE PROTECTING.

When you’ve spent years building a business, changing the brand isn’t just a design exercise. There’s history in it, reputation, customers, relationships, personal attachment and a fair bit of risk if you get it wrong.

That’s why I’m not interested in ripping everything up for the sake of making something new. The job is to understand what made the business worth building in the first place, protect the parts that still matter, and evolve the rest so the brand feels right for where you’re going next.

A rebrand should feel like progress, not like losing what made the business yours.

THE PROOF IS IN THE WORK.

Over the years I’ve worked with established organisations, founder led businesses and growing brands across a wide mix of sectors. Different audiences, different challenges, same job at the core: make the business clearer, stronger and easier to believe in.

That experience matters because good branding isn’t just about taste. It’s about knowing what to keep, what to challenge and what actually needs to change.
